Sharon obtained her CPA license from the state of California in January 2006. Included in her studies as a double major from UC Berkeley, in the fields of Applied Mathematics and Economics, she also excelled in the fields of Financial Accounting and Auditing. Sharon began her career in public accounting and went on to become a Senior Auditor for local governmental clients. Sharon’s knowledge and experience propelled her to then focus her efforts in public service at the City of Beverly Hills, winning annual awards for Excellence in Financial Reporting, as well as creating value for the organization on a continuous basis. Sharon opened her own accounting practice in 2013 and provided general accounting and consulting services for a wide array of local governmental clients. Sharon has given lectures at GFOA and CSMFO conferences, as well as published articles in GFOA and CSMFO magazines, when she was spotted by an audit firm, who recommended her to be the City Controller at the City of Compton, a position she was hired for in July of 2020. Ever since Sharon held this position, she continuously delivered successes to the City by removing all of Compton’s qualified audit opinions, removing over 100 audit findings, implementing a cost allocation plan, forecasting City-wide revenue, and conducting budget enforcement, just to name a few.
Sharon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of CPAs, the Government Finance Officers Association, and the Cal Alumni Association. She has given lectures at the GFOA 2012 conference regarding the implementation of GASB 54, as well as the GFOA 2019 conference in regards to planning and managing banking protocols with local governments during declared disasters.
If she hadn’t pursued accounting and auditing, Sharon would have pursued teaching as a career. She likes to spend her time outside of the office playing tennis, eating pizza, and enjoying time with friends and family. If Sharon’s friends were to describe her in one word, it would be: patient.
Darren began his accounting journey at Clovis Community College, where he discovered a strong interest in the profession and realized it was the right career path for him. He started working at PPC in February 2024 as a Tax Intern and joined the Government Advisory Services Department as an intern in September 2024.
While interning with PPC, Darren was a full-time student at Fresno State, where he served on the board of the Beta Alpha Psi—Gamma Omicron chapter. He graduated in December 2025 and is actively pursuing his CPA license.
If Darren weren’t an accountant, he would be working for the railroad. He has always enjoyed trains and stated that it was always a dream job. In his free time, he enjoys photography and videography, developing his skills for over eight years. He also values spending time with friends and family and enjoys traveling, having visited 14 states and Washington, D.C.
Jessica began her accounting career at a local accounting firm in 2018 where she first developed her interest in government and not-for-profit accounting. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from California State University, Fresno in May 2019, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in accountancy and a certificate in marketing. After completing her Certified Public Accountant license, she furthered her expertise by obtaining a Master of Science in Accountancy from the University of Connecticut.
Jessica is a versatile professional with a passion for creative pursuits. When not immersed in work, you’ll find her enjoying the company of her loyal canine companion, Bo-Katan, expanding her ever-growing LEGO collection, and seeking balance through activities like running and hot yoga. She also has a knack for floral design, finding joy in arranging blooms and creating beautiful spaces. With a diverse range of interests and a commitment to excellence, Jessica brings a unique blend of creativity and dedication to everything she does.
PPC Trivia: If Jessica was not an accountant, she would want to work in the fashion industry where she could combine her love for precision with her love for fashion. The part of her brain that loves project management would enjoy serving as the creative director of a fashion house, overseeing the vision and artistic direction of each season’s collections. However, the other part of her brain that prioritizes perfection and executing a detailed plan would thrive in the work of a “les petites mains,” specializing in the meticulous craftsmanship of haute couture.
Calvin is a recent Fresno State graduate who is starting his career in the accounting field. While pursuing a degree in accounting, he participated in several finance clubs, such as the Association of Finance Scholars and the Student Managed Investment Fund, where he debated financial topics and helped run the school’s endowment fund. He challenges himself to never stop learning, planning to get his CPA soon while working toward his long-term goal of becoming a CFA.
PPC Trivia: If Calvin could change places with any movie character, he’d go with Michael Burry from The Big Short—since he’d be able to retire off of all the money he made from his trades!
Cameron joined Price Paige & Company after graduating from Fresno Pacific University in May 2022. He spent his first year in audit while studying for the CPA exams. After getting licensed in July 2023, he switched to the Government Advisory Services department where he now helps clients with their audit preparation and implementation of new GASB standards. He is currently studying to obtain his Certified Public Finance Officer Certification from the GFOA so he can use this knowledge to better serve our clients. When not working, Cameron enjoys reading, golfing, and spending time with his wife and son.
PPC TRIVIA: Cameron’s first job was as a swim coach during high school. It didn’t necessarily prepare him for accounting, but as he says, “If you can get 15 10-year-olds on the same page, then you are ready to train a new intern.”
Logan graduated from Fresno State in 2022 with a degree in accounting. He began his studies in the computer science program, but switched to business administration, where he found his passion for accounting and sought to turn it into a career. Logan especially enjoys governmental accounting, where he continues to learn about tax dollar allocation, bureaucratic spending, and how the government operates financially. He is a CPA candidate and will be working towards earning his license.
In his downtime, Logan enjoys visiting family in Wisconsin—just as long as it isn’t in the winter! If he wasn’t an accountant, Logan would most likely be working in sports media—no surprise for such an avid sports fan.
PPC Trivia: Logan is obsessed with professional sports, especially football, soccer, and baseball, and he tries to attend a few games each year. He loves traveling to Southern California for Dodgers games, even though he’s actually a Braves fan!
